Our organisation relies almost entirely on volunteers, and we are always looking to expand our team. Our volunteer community is made up of people with an ABI or people who have had experience with ABI, personally or professionally, as well as people who want to find out more about ABI and give back to the community.
There are many Volunteering opportunities at Heads Together
Family Camps which build a families strengths by creating a community of understanding. Every volunteer is a Family Volunteer, joining with a family for the weekend and participating in camp activities with them.
The Heading Out Program which provides a safe and accepting environment for young adults with an ABI to go out, make friends and build their confidence in social situations. Volunteers provide support, safety and wellbeing.
In kind volunteering providing assistance to the organisation with things like administration, IT, finance, marketing.
Through this model of sharing resources, the community is expanded and strengthened. It is not the volunteers role to teach or use therapy, but to model the core values of Heads Together: Respect, Generosity, Acceptance, Courage.
