What a fantastic first Families Day Out event in o What a fantastic first Families Day Out event in over 18 months! We celebrated reconnecting safely with 10 families last Sunday. The day was filled with activities, ball games, engaging conversations, animal petting farm and yummy food! We couldn’t do these events without the support and commitment from our incredible volunteers, thank you! And to our families, some new additions and return families, our hearts feel full from seeing you all. The best way to sum up the day in one word; “friends” “home” and “fun” as quoted from our beautiful family members.

Young adults with brain injuries have been an inte Young adults with brain injuries have been an integral part of Heads Together since we began almost 20 years ago, supporting and guiding our organisation and program development. However, like many community driven organisations, we have struggled to find the resources to create funded staff roles for our incredible young adult leaders. Which is why we are so excited to announce our newest staff member, Lachie Tyson, who has just begun as our first Lived Experience Program Assistant. Lachie has been part of our community since 2016, and has been an incredible contributor, volunteer and all round friend and supporter to us all. We know that he will bring both his professional experience from the world of Finance, as well as his lived experience of brain injury to help us further develop pathways for young adults; to find meaningful leadership roles and employment opportunities. So great to have you on board!
Happy first day to our newest member of our ever g Happy first day to our newest member of our ever growing Heads Together team, Simone Kendall, joins us as our new Office Manager. Sim and her family have been part of our community since 2014 and we are thrilled to bring another parent with lived experience of brain injury onto our team. We are fortunate to have Sim’s wealth of experience in Administration in the not for profit space, and look forward to the fresh perspectives she will bring to our team. We asked Sim how she feels about working at Heads Together. “I’m thrilled to be a spoke in the wheel of such an amazing organisation, especially as I’m so passionate about the Heads Together community”
