At Heads Together we rely almost entirely on Volunteers. Come help us build this community together!
Our Volunteers are a diverse mix including physios, occupational therapists, speech therapists, nurses, doctors, social workers, psychologists, disability support workers, teachers, students, people with lived experience of ABI, friends and family.
Volunteers support parents, kids and young adults at our programs and events by being part of the community, joining in and having fun, running activities for kids, facilitating conversation and connections and providing support, safety and well being.
Volunteers must be 18 and over and have a current National Police Check and a valid Working With Children Check.
Our various programs and activities provide several ways you can support our community as a volunteer:
- Volunteer at our Camps to support families who have a child or young adult with an ABI. Bring all your energy – our camps are lots of fun!
- Help facilitate our social events for any of our Heading Out programs. These programs are varied and really rewarding.
- Support young adults with an ABI to build abilities and leadership skills through our ABILiTy program. Join this group and you are sure to be inspired.
- Do you have other skills you can bring to Heads Together. We would love to hear about them as there are lots of ways volunteers support Heads Together ie IT, photography, sport and rec, arts and music etc.
Through this model of sharing resources, the community is expanded and strengthened. It is not the volunteers role to teach or use therapy, but to model the core values of Heads Together: Respect, Generosity, Acceptance, Courage.
